Interconnect, founded in 1985, is a privately owned firm specializing in the manufacturing of data and electrical cable assemblies, and the design and installation of converging communication technologies. The company produces custom cable assemblies for customers throughout the United States and performs installations throughout North and South Carolina for medium and large businesses, schools, universities, community colleges, and hospitals.
Chuck Snider, President and Founder, started the business enterprise in his basement. Beginning with the manufacture of a 25-pin RS-232 connector now known as a MOD Adapter, the company branched into cable installations and then into network and communications systems. Today, the company employs many specialists, technicians, design consultants and support staff. It operates from its main 14,500 square foot facility in Wilkesboro, supplemented by the branches in RTP and Wilmington.
